ServiceNow Reimagined
A new ServiceNow is coming
We are currently working on the ServiceNow Reimagine Project, which will upgrade the user experience. We will be migrating from the Commercial ServiceNow environment to the Government Community Cloud (GCC) environment.
Why are we doing this?
This migration is driven by the critical need to provide an improved employee and customer-facing experience for both DTS and our State of Utah customers while we leverage the ServiceNow tool in a way that achieves standardization and industry best practices. We need to upgrade our system to be more user-friendly, reduce technical debt, and help make our day-to-day functions less confusing.
What does this mean for you?
Over the course of the next year, the existing ServiceNow environment will dissolve incrementally and fully retire by June 30, 2024. All processes existing on the platform today will be migrated into our new GCC environment. The existing customized processes in the current environment will be analyzed, reviewed, and redesigned, with the help of ownership from each process group.
When can we expect to see changes?
The project has kicked off and we are currently working on the reimagine and migration of the following DTS ServiceNow features:
- Employee Center landing page – New feature
- Incident / Major Incident
- DTS Cost Center
- DTS Security Forms
- ServiceNow System Notifications
- DTS Procurement
- DTS Approval Management for Security and Procurement
- DTS Knowledge Base
- Virtual Agent – New feature
- Case – New feature
We expect to go live with these project features during the month of January 2024. We will be offering training, workshops, demos, best practices, and providing much more information in the coming weeks and months to help you understand the new look, feel, and how to use the new ServiceNow environment. We will be sure to communicate with you throughout the project to make sure you are updated on the progress.
Sign up for the “NOW” learning portal
State employees are invited to register for the ServiceNow “NOW” learning environment at no cost. NOW will not only be a great resource to refine your skillset in ServiceNow, but it will also help prepare you to understand the new Government Community Cloud (GCC) ServiceNow environment that will be rolled out incrementally during the calendar year 2024.
How to Register
- Go to https://nowlearning.service-now.com/lxp.
- Select Sign Up in the upper right corner.
- Fill out the required fields on the form, agree to the terms of use, and click Submit. IMPORTANT: Use your State of Utah email address. i.e. UserName@utah.gov
- You will then receive an email from NOW to confirm your email address. Click the link in the email within 24 hours of receipt. The link will prompt you to log in to your account to confirm and activate it for use.
